A manager is a person who is responsible for coordinating the efforts of a group with the aim of accomplishing goals and objectives through efficient and effective use of available resources. A manager performs the basic functions of management, which are planning, controlling, organising, staffing and leading to accomplish the goals of the organisation (Drucker Maciariello, 2008). Organisational performance is largely dependent on the quality of leadership established by the managers. A manager has particular leadership qualities that make them effective in execution of their duties. Management refers to the process of coordinating the activities of a business with the aim of achieving the predetermined objectives. The process of management comprises of the interlocking functions of creating corporate policy and controlling, organising, directing and planning the resources of the organisation in order to achieve the objectives of that policy (Robbins, Coulter DeCenzo, 2013). Management can also refer to the team bestowed with the responsibility of making decisions and oversee an enterprise. In every organisation, there are teams dedicated to the vision of the organisation.
